New White Paper - The Importance of Having a Company Driver Policy

There is another white paper available in the TGA Resource Vault.  The Importance of Having a Company Driver Policy features an example of a driver policy that you can use as a baseline to create one for your company.  Any business that has employees driving company owned vehicles should certainly have some type of driver policy to set the record for appropriate and SAFE use of company vehicles.  This makes auto insurers happy, and is a bargaining chip when negotiating auto premiums.

One other note; the state of Massachusetts is now making driver records available on line.  Since they will only send the records to the license holder, hiring managers could require a certified copy of an applicant's driving record to be submitted with their application to be considered for a job.  Putting the onus on the applicant gives HR one less thing to do, and might even deter unqualified applicants from applying.
